Four Vics in Australian 19/U Team By NV Media
Following Victoria`s prominence in the recently announced Australian Open Squad, four promising young Victorian netballers have been named in the Australian 19/U team on the weekend. The team was announced following a three day squad training camp at the AIS in Canberra.
The team remain in Canberra for matches this week against the New Zealand 21/U team and the England 19/U team.
Victorian players selected:
· Kelsey Browne – VU Western Lightning
These players have all risen through the ranks in Netball Victoria’s player pathway, having participated in the Netball Victoria Zone Academy Program and gaining selection in Victorian 17/U and 19/U State Teams as well as representing their clubs in the Holden Cruze Cup. All four players will also be representing Victoria in the 21/U National Championships to be held in Queensland from the 29 Sept to the 4th of October.
In a further vote of confidence for Netball Victoria`s coaching pathways, the team`s coaches are also Victorian, with Stacey West (Head Coach) and Eloise Southby-Halibish (Assistant Coach) being named.
