Netball Stars visit King Valley for WorkSafe Game of the Month

By NV Media

Kath Knott v2
King Valley Football Netball Club will welcome Melbourne Vixens netballer Kathleen Knott and former Australian netballer Nicole Richardson for a Junior Coaching Clinic and WorkSafe Game of the Month Luncheon to celebrate the opening of the club’s new rooms on Sunday 25th July.

Kathleen Knott is one of the youngest members of the Melbourne Vixens, making her goalshooting debut in 2009 and impressing netball fans everywhere with her tenacity and drive in the circle. Nicole Richardson is veritable Australian sporting royalty, being one of only two Australian women to compete in two sports at the ultimate elite level, winning a Commonwealth Gold Medal with the Australian Netball Team in 2002 and an Olympic Bronze Medal with the Australian Softball Team in 1996.

The day’s event will kick off with a junior coaching clinic run by the netball stars for selected members of King Valley FNC and Swanpool FNC at 9:30am. A luncheon for club members and invited guests will be held at midday prior to the A Grade match between King Valley FNC and Swanpool FNC at 2:30pm, and presentations, afternoon tea and raffle will be drawn at conclusion of match.

WorkSafe will be giving locals the opportunity for a free WorkHealth check between 11:00am – 4:00pm. The checks take only 15 minutes, are completely confidential, and all participants will go into the draw to win a netball signed by Vixens co-captains Bianca Chatfield and Sharelle McMahon.

A number of ‘Game of the Month’ events are held throughout the WorkSafe Country Netball League season and are a great vehicle for netball clubs to raise their profile in the community and for WorkSafe to deliver their messages of workplace safety throughout rural and regional Victoria.
