Stars Shine at King Valley Game of the Month

Game of the Month King Valley

Melbourne Vixens goalshooter Kathleen Knott joined former Australian netballer and softballer Nicole Richardson over the weekend for the last WorkSafe Game on the Month of the year, held at King Valley.

With the sunshine making an appearance for some spectacular weather showing off the district’s picturesque surrounds, hundreds of locals and guests attended the WorkSafe Game of the Month luncheon which also acted as the official opening of the King Valley Football Netball Club’s new clubrooms.

Richardson and Knott kicked off the day, running a junior clinic for local netballers before taking part in the luncheon which also featured special guests such as Bill Sykes MP and Wangaratta Councillor Doug Mc Phie, as well as Maria Batchelor – WorkSafe Executive Officer for the Public Sector and Community Services Program.

In the A Grade netball match following the luncheon, King Valley FNC took on Swanpool FNC, with the home team claiming an emphatic victory and keeping their finals hopes alive.

A number of ‘Game of the Month’ events are held throughout the WorkSafe Country Netball League season and are a great vehicle for netball clubs to raise their profile in the community and for WorkSafe to deliver their messages of workplace safety throughout rural and regional Victoria, including the provision of free 15 minute WorkHealth checks for locals.
